Double X Geeks

The title was first for my blog (found here), and I have to admit that I got the idea from this shirt from Ctrl-Alt-Del. The Double X refers to the female chromosome (XX), and geeks should be fairly self evident. The point of the blog was to examine girls in geekdom, and post things of interest. I still intend to do that, but posts aren't as regular as I would like.

It took me many tries to write this paragraph without sounding sexist. I know a few male geeks who craft, but due to the way society works, guys are just not encouraged to craft. However us fems are expected and encouraged to learn to sew and knit. So while guys are more than welcome to use any of the information on this site, if I tend to use she/her rather than gender neutral don't feel like I'm excluding you!

ANYWAY, crafting is awesome. Geek crafting is like, awesome squared. I love doing cross stitch and hope to get into chainmaille soon, and do a bit of sewing (mostly costumes), and geek just makes it that much more fun. Here you can find patterns, links, and fun stuff. Stuff I find will be in the blog, and stuff of my own will be in either patterns or my store.

Me!

23 years old, been in school forever. Currently doing Website Admin with the hopes of running my own business from home. Been a geek since I first saw star trek, and crafty since I was a toddler. I'm badly ADHD, so I need projects that I can do while doing other things. Cross stitch is good for this, tho I often wish I had an extra arm LOL

I most do sprite work because it lends itself so well to cross stitch. However, I do make some of my own patterns! I'm most proud of this one:

If you want anything strange and unusual like this done, let me know!
